Broker Partnerships

Nearly two-thirds of our business is brokered. Both direct sales and brokered business are equally valuable to us. We aim to maintain our historic mix of one-third direct sales and two-thirds brokered.

Our broker partners are important allies in raising awareness of our global capabilities in their prospecting activities. Brokers differentiate our property insurance products and services from those of our competitors and promote our property loss prevention expertise as a basis for placing philosophically aligned business with FM Global. Most importantly, they share our commitment to providing exceptional service to our mutual clients to help them manage their total cost of risk.

FM Global has straightforward pricing and commission payment practices:

  • Our pricing is the same whether you insure through a broker partner or directly with us.
  • Our mutual company business in the United States and Canada is quoted, written and invoiced on a net (zero commission) basis, whether produced directly or through a broker.
  • We pay brokerage commissions through our stock company subsidiaries and our WorldReach® partners. Upon client request, we will disclose brokerage commission(s) payable under their policy(ies).
  • We do not pay any fees, overrides or payments such as contingent commissions, placement service fees, compensation for services to underwriters or other such arrangements.
