Event Overview

Do you know if all of the fire control valves in your facility are open? Are the fire pumps in automatic mode, and if not, is there a plan to make them operational as soon as practical?

You may believe everything is in service and that it is being well supervised and maintained. However, lack of proper care of fire protection equipment, following installation and commission or after years of service, can result in severe fires, even at facilities with well-designed systems. This is largely due to improperly closed valves (ICVs), impaired sprinkler systems and fire protection systems failing to operate due to inadequate maintenance.

This session will highlight the importance of inspection and testing in order to ensure fire protection systems function properly when needed.

This webinar will cover:

  • Key components of a sprinkler system and its associated water supply
  • The importance of supervision, maintenance and testing of automatic sprinkler systems to ensure they work properly when needed
  • The types of fire protection equipment that should be maintained and how frequently maintenance should be carried out, including a comparison to the Australian Standard
  • The needed inspection, testing and maintenance programs for your sprinkler systems, special protection systems and manual firefighting systems, including effective documentation.

Who should attend?

  • Maintenance managers
  • Fire protection engineers and technicians
  • Health, safety and environment managers and personnel
  • Facilities managers and engineers
  • Building management company representatives and fire protection contractors who are conducting valve inspections, alarm tests and weekly fire pump tests for AFM and FM Global clients.
