David R. Thoman

David R. Thoman is senior vice president, Eastern division manager at FM Global. Thoman oversees all client relations, underwriting, engineering, processing and administration for the division.

Prior to assuming his current role in 2020, Thoman served as operations senior vice president and manager of FM Global’s Los Angeles, California, USA, operations. There he was responsible for the management, leadership and direction of insurance and engineering operations within the geographical territory of Arizona; Southern California; Hawaii; Clark County, Nevada; and New Mexico.

Thoman started his career at FM Global in 1986 as a property loss prevention consultant before holding various positions in engineering management and later becoming an operations vice president, client service manager.

Thoman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara, USA. He is also a licensed professional fire protection engineer.
