ISO 9000 Registration Requirements
ISO 9000 registration requires a third-party system assessment of your organization's quality system. Upon passing the audit, the system is registered for that particular site; if you operate a number of facilities, those sites also must be assessed according to the same quality management system.
Once your organization decides to apply for registration, you should:
- Evaluate your existing quality procedures; compare them with ISO 9001: 2008 standard requirements
- Identify corrective action needed to conform to the standards
- Prepare a quality management system
- Draft a quality manual
- Define, document and implement procedures
- Arrange a pre-assessment meeting (optional) with FM Approvals to review your organization's interpretation of the standard
- Arrange for FM Approvals to conduct an assessment
If your organization follows these steps properly, you may receive registration shortly after the assessment.
